The Strange Last Voyage of Aaron and JD.

Blog update update

In preparation for our next voyage I've made some updates and improvements to the blog to hopefully make it easier for people to use. We put it up during the drive down for the last voyage, so there were many things that were not quite put together. Hopefully it will be smoother sailing this time for both us and you guys. More information below the fold...

First off, the software has been updated so the commenting problems we had before should be fixed.

Comments

We have added some 'quick tags' which are the icons at the top of the comment box. They should help you do things like add bold or italics to your posts. Whee! You use them by selecting the text you want to modify, then clicking the icon you want to use. At this point you can add the following:

  • : bold
  • : italics
  • :
    blockquotes

  • : links

The last two icons are somewhat irrelevant to posting comments, but feel free to click them if you like.

Email Updates

We also have setup a subscription box for people to add thier email addresses to in cass you would like updates as new voyages are being undertaken. This will most likely only be used occasionally to notify people when there will be some new excitement on the blog, so dont expect very many emails. During voyages it will be up to you to check for updates. For those tech-savvy of you you can subscribe to our rss feed here or by clicking the rss icon in the 'syndicate' section at the bottom left of the page.

Image fanciness

We've setup a cool 'lighbox' feature that allows us to create clickable images that display an overlay of the image in a larger size. You can try it out with this one:
We wont always do that with images, but we will probably do it with most of them that appear in the blog posts.

Bug reports

If you are having problems with the site, you can post your problems here, and someone hopefully can help you out. We will not be monitoring or probably updating as much as last time when we were working off the dock, so we will try to fix things if there are problems as soon as possible.

Due in Jersey Saturday

Adam Mordecai kindly called me with some information for all you worried parental types out there..Aaron said they would be on the water until Saturday, putting into ports so they could blog, but apparently they skipped that part.

Jeanette

Adam Mordecai

Jeanette:

Good morning. We are still trying to locate this vessel and I see that you spoke to someone who said they would be on the water until Saturday. Is this person, Adam Mordecai, actually on the vessel? If so did he call you via cell phone? Please call us if you can at 757-398-6390 so we can confirm a few things. You can just ask for one of the Search and Rescue watchstanders. Thank you for your time.

Lieutenant Burns

Where are they?

Adam or Tlaloc,

I hope you read this..have you had any word from them? Do you know where they were headed (Cape Hatteras?) and when they were due in? Please call me at (206) 731-8950, ask for Jeanette, or at home (360) 337-2467.

Thanks,
Jeanette
