Round Two
![]()
Well here we go again. I want to welcome all of you back for the voyage, round two. For those of you who were around for the first attempt back in February you will remember that we had a few issues with the boat, and were in desperate need of some additional gear and crew.
Good news, we have managed to convince two additional folks to come along. We have promised them continual sunshine on the 'fiesta' deck, and many scantly clad women for their viewing pleasure. Little do they know, He He.
As for the gear, well... we have a new boom vang, some foresail sheets, and um well a um, oh yes and Tlaloc bought us a Barometer. This device, for those of you who dont know, tells us what the atmospheric pressure is, from which we can deduce how quickly the hurricane is bearing down upon us. This you see gives us just enough time to grab our ankles and, well you know the rest.
Best of all however is that we have someone going along this time that knows how to cook more than just the patented 'salty oats'. Lisa has planned an entire meal schedule, and emailed me a shopping list in spreadsheet form, which I followed unquestioningly. We are definately looking forward to the delectable delights awaiting us onboard.
We are planning on leaving New York early friday morning for the twelve hour drive to South Carolina. We may set sail as early as Sunday, however we will most likely depart a few days later. We have a rather long worklist, again. This includes things like moving the radar array, um antenna, to a location slightly less insane. Also we are planning on fixing the lifelines, securing the deck plates, addressing rigging concerns, plumbing the head, and a myriad of other things.
I would like to take a moment before the crazyness begins to welcome all of you aboard. I hope you will have as much fun reading about our adventure as we will have living it.

Good Luck and watch the heat
Have a safe voyage.
I have been thinking alot about heat. Be carful with the sun, its a killer. Drink lots of water and use sunscreen all the time. I can imagine a pretty miserable trip if JD was pink as a lobster from day one.
Hope the drive down went well.
Your trusty deserter,
Tlaloc
Good Luck
ED and I wish all of you FAIR WINDS AND CALM SEAS.
Love
Mom
