The Strange Last Voyage of Aaron and JD.

The sea is our cooler

The sea is our cooler, because this boat has no refrigerator. The sea is also our bathroom it turns out. I imagine that once we set sail, it will also be our main water supply and bed.

We arrived yesterday morning at around 6am, after driving all night. I guess the first mate's job is to drive while the captain sleeps and demands rest stops for smoke breaks. Awesome.

Luckily, JDs love for cigarettes is only slightly outweighed by his love of booze. While running errands all day buying supplies and parts for the boat (with my own credit card, JD 'forgot' to give me his before I left), I picked up a case of budweiser at his request.

Once I returned to my future final resting place, I unpacked and began cleaning the galley so I could put the food away. "Are these cold?" JD asked me as I unpacked the beer. "Uh, no. Is that a problem? We can just throw them in the fridge for bit, right?", I replied. JD merely looked at me with a cold stare, turned suddenly, and disappeared into the bow of the boat. The sounds of clattering and swearing bounced around the aluminum ship for a bit, then he returned with what looked like a fish net.

"This is a fish net.", JD stated, and began unraveling it at my feet. "We'll just go ahead and put the beer in here, tie a rope to it, and toss it off the stern. Does beer float by the way?" he asked, as my jaw slowly dropped.

Its funny, but once you have about 6 beers in you, you really dont notice the seaweed flavor anymore.

Dear lord get me off this ship.

So I was thinking

Rather than a traditional funeral I think we'll hold a wake in your memories... It's mostly due to the entry where I read JD loves the booze. You should probably drink as much as possible so you won't feel it when you're finally done in. I can't think of anything worse than panicking in open sea. It's right up there with suffocation. Anyway, hope all goes quickly for you both and I promise I'll cry and drink well to your memories. Is it wrong to wear red??

Personally I think red would

Personally I think red would be divine....
